A manager in a beauty salon is liable for overseeing the daily operations of the business, addressing the employee concerns and handling the customer complaints. The amount of liability alters based on the kind of beauty salon; however you must be able to capably perform the given responsibilities.

Schedule receptionists, stylists, massage therapists, manicurists and other employees. For instance, your stylists is making their own schedule, they are required to provide you their monthly schedules in advance so you can create your master schedule. This master schedule will let your receptionists to book appointments and tell every employee when they need to work. You also need to conduct meetings with your staff regarding your cover advertisements, address concerns and answer questions as well. You need to get your employee’s feedbacks about your salon products and advise your staff to report to you any customer’s complaints.

Managing a beauty salon also requires you to work with both local and national distributor’s representatives. Sometimes these representatives register your products and they will also do the ordering for your salon. You need to double check and review the orders especially if you need these things. You might have to enforce a budget with other salespersons. As a manager you are required to reconcile your everyday sales reports, cash accountability, and credit card and check transactions and make deposits if needed. There are also beauty salons that pay their staffs cash incentives or give a tip report before the day end while others add the incentives to the paychecks.

A beauty salon manager must also sort the documents such as time off request, account payable and account receivable. As a manager you might be liable to pay invoice or forward the details to the owner itself always to make the flow of operation smooth and easy.
